ChargeWay is operated by Chasebig Limited, a company incorporated in Nigeria (RC No. 1855347) with its registered office at 1 Kandi Close, Off Aminu Kano Crescent, Wuse 2, Abuja, Nigeria.

When we say "ChargeWay," "we," "us," or "our" in this policy, we mean Chasebig Limited.

2. Information We Collect

We only collect information that is necessary to provide our services or that you voluntarily provide to us.

2.1 Information You Provide Directly

  • Contact forms: Name, email address, phone number (with country code), and your message when you reach out through our Contact, Own an EV, Book a Ride, or EV Care pages.
  • Ride bookings: Name, phone number, preferred date, time, city, and ride tier when booking a luxury ride-hailing trip.
  • Marketplace inquiries: Contact details and vehicle preferences when expressing interest in buying or selling an EV.
  • Newsletter: Email address if you subscribe to updates.

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

  • Device and browser data: IP address, browser type, operating system, device type, and screen resolution.
  • Usage data: Pages visited, time spent on pages, referring URLs, and click patterns.
  • Location data: Approximate location derived from your IP address (city-level only). We do not access your device GPS without explicit permission.

2.3 Information We Do Not Collect

We do not collect financial information such as bank account numbers or card details directly. All payment processing is handled by Paystack, a PCI-DSS compliant third-party payment processor. We never see, store, or have access to your full card details.

We process your personal information to:

  • Respond to your inquiries and provide customer support.
  • Process ride-hailing bookings and vehicle purchase requests.
  • Connect you with certified EV mechanics in your area.
  • Facilitate escrow-backed marketplace transactions through Paystack.
  • Send updates about your orders, bookings, or inquiries.
  • Send marketing communications (only with your consent, and you can opt out at any time).
  • Improve our platform, services, and user experience through analytics.
  • Comply with legal obligations and protect against fraud or misuse.

5. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only in the following circumstances:

  • Paystack: For processing payments and escrow-backed marketplace transactions.
  • Google / Firebase: For hosting article content, charging station data, and platform infrastructure.
  • Email service providers: For delivering transactional and marketing emails on our behalf.
  • Certified EV mechanics: Your phone number and service request details are shared with the specific mechanic you request a booking with.
  • Ride-hailing drivers: Your name, pickup location, and contact number are shared with your assigned driver to fulfil the booking.
  • Logistics and customs partners: Name and contact details may be shared with shipping, clearing, and customs agents solely for the purpose of completing vehicle import and delivery.
  • Law enforcement: When required by a valid court order, subpoena, or Nigerian law.

6. Cookies and Tracking

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to improve functionality and understand how visitors use the platform.

  • Essential cookies: Required for the website to function (e.g., session management, form submissions).
  • Analytics cookies: Help us understand traffic patterns and improve the user experience.

You can manage cookie preferences through your browser settings. Disabling certain cookies may affect the functionality of our platform.

7. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information, including:

  • Transaction records: Retained for 6 years in accordance with Nigerian tax and business record-keeping requirements.
  • Marketing subscriptions: Until you unsubscribe.
  • Analytics data: Aggregated and anonymised data may be retained indefinitely.

Under the Nigeria Data Protection Act (NDPA) 2023, you have the right to:

Some of the third-party services we use (such as Google Firebase and email infrastructure) may process data outside Nigeria. When this occurs, we ensure that appropriate safeguards are in place, including contractual obligations that require these providers to protect your data to a standard consistent with the NDPA 2023.

11. Children’s Privacy

Our services are not directed at individuals under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have inadvertently collected data from a minor, please contact us immediately and we will delete it.
