The crater. Two metres away.
Battery didn't catch fire.
In March 2026, a BYD Atto 3 in Jerusalem was caught in the blast radius of an Iranian ballistic missile, detonating roughly two metres away. The windows shattered. The body was peppered with shrapnel. But the passenger cabin held together, and all five occupants walked away alive.
Most remarkably, BYD's Blade Battery, the same battery in every BYD we sell, didn't catch fire. No thermal runaway. No explosion. In the most extreme real-world safety test imaginable, BYD proved it builds cars that protect lives.
